After the Nothing Phone (2a) proves successful, the company plans to launch a "Plus" version later this month.
Via Twitter/X and in a statement to the media, Nothing confirmed the launch of the "Nothing Phone (2a) Plus" on July 31. There is very little information about the device or what upgrades it will bring.
Previously, Nothing had teased the device with an image of the Pokémon Mega Aerodactyl. The standard Aerodactyl was used in the teaser leading up to the launch of the Nothing Phone (2a), and Mega Aerodactyl is an evolved version of the Pokémon.
The "Plus" variant could therefore bring some notable updates to the phone (2a), but it's entirely unclear what these updates will be. The teaser images for Nothing also don't hint at any special upgrades.
This will be the second version of the Phone (2a) to hit the market after a previous "special edition" with a unique color design quickly sold out. The recently released CMF Phone 1 is also a variant of the Phone (2a), offering similar specs across the board but at a significantly lower price.
Whatever happens, we'll know more on July 31st - and maybe much sooner than that.
Meanwhile, the launch of the Nothing Phone (3) isn't scheduled for 2024, as the company has delayed it while it develops its AI features.
