At WWDC 2024, Apple officially announced the next major update to the iOS platform. It's iOS 18, and it comes with a lot of new features and improvements, as well as Apple Intelligence, which is basically Apple's version of AI. The update isn't available yet, but if you're interested, you can install the iOS 18 beta on your device. That's how it's done.

Before You Start

Before you get too excited, it's important to note that iOS 18 is currently still in beta. This means that many features may not be available yet or may not work as expected. There's likely a ton of bugs to fix, not to mention potential app incompatibility issues.

This means that if you really want to install the iOS 18 beta, you need to make sure that:

  • The device you're installing it on doesn't have the RAM you use every day. This is important because you don't want to be left bricked if something goes wrong.
  • Also, make sure you back up all the data on your phone so you can restore it if something goes wrong.
  • Check if you're using one of the following compatible models and if it's running iOS 16.4 or later.
