  • It will be the first series to ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the flagship SoC of Qualcomm, like every year.
  • The Xiaomi 15 is equipped with a triple 50MP+50MP+50MP camera system.

Xiaomi has always been one of the first to bring Qualcomm's latest chipsets to its flagship phones every year. And this year seems to be no exception as a new leak has revealed the expected specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered Xiaomi 15 will be coming later this year, and a reliable tipster shared some interesting details about the device via their Weibo account earlier this week. In addition to the flagship SoC, the Xiaomi 15 will have a 1.5K LTPO display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor underneath.

The device will also be available in two versions: a pure glass back and a pure vegan leather back. In terms of optics, the tipster suggests that the Xiaomi 15 will feature a larger 1/1.3-inch 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 50MP 3x telephoto lens. The rear camera is said to support full-range aperture.

Other notable specs include up to 16GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage. A stereo speaker system including earphones and a larger battery capacity are also expected in the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series.

Xiaomi usually releases the Xiaomi 15 series first in China, but it will be released sometime in October and will be launched as a strong successor to the Xiaomi 14 series to compete with the best Android smartphones.

Qualcomm has already confirmed that it will hold a launch event for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October, which was announced by Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire at MWC earlier this year. The flagship chipset will be equipped with the new Oryon CPU for the first time, which should provide a significant performance boost compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Recently, some leaked benchmark tests have also demonstrated the performance of the chipset, giving it top marks.
