  • According to a new leak, the OnePlus 13 could offer revised camera hardware.
  • The primary camera is expected to remain static, while a new sensor could be headed to the periscope and ultrawide snappers.

The upcoming OnePlus 13 is anticipated to undergo changes in its design and features, with a significant focus on the tertiary cameras. As per information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 13 is likely to maintain a triple rear camera setup, but there could be alterations to the periscope and ultrawide cameras, while keeping the primary 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor unchanged from the OnePlus 12.

The Sony IMX882, a 50MP sensor found in mid-range smartphones such as the OnePlus Ace 3V and POCO F6, is rumored to be positioned behind the ultrawide and periscope cameras on the upcoming OnePlus 13. In contrast, the OnePlus 12 utilized a 64MP Omnivision sensor for its telephoto lens and a 48MP Sony IMX581 sensor for the ultrawide camera. Despite this change, the OnePlus 13 is anticipated to maintain a 3x zoom feature.

It is uncertain how the sensor change will impact the camera performance of the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 12 was dependable in good lighting conditions, so we hope the OnePlus 13 will improve on this. There are rumors that the new cameras may be placed in a different configuration, possibly replacing the current offset array with a more centrally located circular cutout. The OnePlus 13 is set to launch in China in December, so more information is likely to be revealed before its release.
